PURPOSE: A propulsion system for a boat is provided to move the boat conveniently with little force by rotating a propeller in engaging a gear with a chain, and to improve convenience for beginners by attaching and detaching the propulsion systems from both sides of the boat easily. CONSTITUTION: A propulsion system of a boat is composed of a chain box(1), an installation part(2), a handle(3) and a propeller fixing shaft(4), and divided into a chain gear apparatus and a belt gear apparatus. Gears and a chain are made of waterproof plastic, and the small gear rotating unidirectionally and the large gear are rotated by the chain or belt. The boat is moved forward by rotating the propeller connected to the small gear. The propulsion systems are mounted at both sides of the boat by fixing pins, and separated easily for convenience of a user in injecting air to the boat. The boat is moved safely by operating simply with little force, and the propulsion system is lifted up and down in laying the boat to the shore.
