A telephone system such that calling is simpe without installing or setting software by a computer in an environment where the computer can be connected with the internet. The telephone system comprises PCs (3a − 3d) connected with the internet (N), fixed telephones (6a−1 to 6a−3) (6b−1, 6b− 2) (6c−1 to 6c−3), a main server device (1) for providing connection information for connection with those communication devices, means for connecting the PCs (3a − 3d) through the Internet (N) with the main server device (1), means for requesting the main server device (1) for connection information on connection with a designated communication device, means for setting up a connection with the communication device according to the connection information acquired from the main server (1), and recording media (5a − 5d) on which telephone programs for allowing the computer to function as means for communication with the communication device connected. The speech communication with the designated communication device can be simply made by supplying the recording media (5a − 5d) to the PCs (3a − 3d) connected with the internet (N).
