PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically generate object codes having a suitably balanced program size and execution speed, such as generating an object program having a maximum execution speed under a restriction of a given total program size. SOLUTION: A calculated total value of a program size is compared with an upper limit value of a program size given by a user to check whether the program size total value is not more than the upper limit value. When it is not, a function information table 110 is scanned and a function compiled by prioritizing an execution speed and having a minimum execution frequency is taken out. The taken out function is compiled by prioritizing a size and the information is set to the function information table. While, when the program size total value is not more than the upper limit value, object codes of respective function numbers are output to an object file and ends.
