PURPOSE: A positive electrode active material for a lithium-sulfur battery and its preparation method are provided, to improve the discharging potential and the cycle lifetime characteristic under the high efficiency condition. CONSTITUTION: The positive electrode active material comprises a core comprising a sulfur compound; and a surface treatment layer comprising at least one compound selected from the group consisting of hydroxides, oxyhydroxides, oxycarbonates and hydroxycarbonates of a coating element formed on the core. Preferably the sulfur compound is selected from the group consisting of elemental sulfur(S8), Li2Sn (n>=1), an organosulfur compound and a carbon-sulfur polymer; and the coating element is dissolved into an organic solvent or water and is at least one selected from the group consisting of Mg, Al, Co, K, Na, Ca, Si, Ti, Sn, V, Ge, Ga, B, As, Zr and their mixtures. The thickness of the surface treatment layer is 1-100 nm. |
