<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for a flat cable, which can improve the holding force of the flat cable applied to its core wire. SOLUTION: The core wire 12 of the flat cable 10 is sandwiched and held between a sloped surface 29A and an extension surface 29B, both of which are part of a housing body 21, and a press surfaces 36A, 36B, both of which are part of a pressure member 22. A locking projection 41 projecting from the press surface 36A is locked to a locking hole 31 provided on the extension surface 29B, maintaining the space between the extension surface 29B and the press surface 36A as it is, thus improving the holding force applied to the core wire 12. As a result, it becomes possible to keep such an incident from occurring that the core wire 12 comes off from the space between the sloped surface 29A and an extension surface 29B and the press surfaces 36A, 36B by a frictional force between the core wire and the mating terminal fittings to which the cable is connected.</p> |
