PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface hydrophilic member which has a surface hydrophilic layer showing superb hydrophilic properties and high durability formed on the surface of one selected from various kinds of base materials, and a hydrophilic graft polymer which can be suitably used for the hydrophilic member. SOLUTION: This hydrophilic member has a hydrophilic graft chain formed on the surface of a base material and also has a hydrophilic surface with a crosslinked structure formed by hydrolyzing and condensation-polymerizing a metal alkoxide selected from among Si, Ti, Zr and Al. In addition, the hydrophilic surface contains a macromer having a hydrophilic functional group and a hydrophilic graft chain as a copolymer with a structured unit having a silane coupling group. |
