An electromagnetic patternising device for selector jacks of a circular machine comprises an electromagnetic device to draw selected jacks into the working position, and bias unselected jacks in the opposite direction. The jack butts pass between the shoes of two electro-magnets. One is energised by a pattern device to attract and draw selected jacks, the other is continuously energised with a smaller flux or energised intermittently, to bias unselected jacks. |
