The invention relates to a method for controlling the binder-release process for MIM- (Metal Injection Moulding), or CIM- (Ceramic Injection Moulding) pieces, in which a polymeric plastic, for example, is used as binder, which, by interaction with a reaction partner at a suitable process temperature and with flushing of the reaction chamber with a protective gas, may be decomposed into the low molecular weight components thereof, found in gas-state units, which are converted into oxidised compounds by flaring, whereby, at fixed defined values of the process parameters Tr (reaction temperature) and V (feed rate) of the reaction partner, the temperature Tf of the combustion chamber in the flare is continuously or periodically monitored at intervals. After the flare temperature drops to a lower threshold value T'fs the ending of the binder-release process is initiated and, at the latest after the expiry of a safety time span DELTA t, within which the combination of the parameters Tr and V, suitable for the binder-release process, are maintained, the binder-release process is ended, whereby the lower threshold value T'fs corresponds at least approximately to the value Tfs which arises under stable operating conditions of the binder-release system so long as the depolymerisation process is not initiated again.
