The sealing plug comprises a sleeve 1 containing a stem 2 with a head 4 protruding beyond the end of a sleeve 1. The head has a shoulder 5 with at least one annular protrusion 9 that abuts the sleeve 1. The stem 2 protrudes from the other end of the sleeve 1. At least part of the head 4 is radially enlarged with respect to the remainder of the stem. When the head 4 is pressed into the sleeve 1, the protrusions 9 embed within the sleeve 1, causing it to deform and expand radially to engage with the wall of a hole in which the plug is placed. Then the head 4 breaks off the stem at a weak point 3, leaving it entirely within the sleeve 1. Preferably there are many protrusions with a tapering cross-section. |
