PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage controlled oscillator, in which an oscillation frequency can be easily controlled and which can be made small-sized while satisfying basic characteristics. SOLUTION: The oscillator is provided with an amplifier 2, a surface acoustic wave element 1 comprising a feedback path in respect to the amplifier and a frequency control circuit provided on the feedback path and composed of a filter. In the frequency control circuit, a phase control circuit 4 is composed of a microstrip line and a chip inductor or chip capacitor.
