PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inexpensively preventing an electromagnetic wave from being externally radiated from the housing of a portable telephone. SOLUTION: The portable telephone shields the electromagnetic wave externally radiated from the housing having a metal-plating layer. The portable telephone comprises the metal-plating layer formed on the housing injection molded by using an ABS resin or a polycarbonate resin as the material of the housing thereof or the part of the surface or the entire surface of the component for forming the housing by an electroless plating method, a metal film layer formed on the overall surface of the plating surface by an electrolytic plating method.
