<p>An optical element having a thin film with a single wall carbon nano-tube laminated thereon, and utilizing the saturable absorbing function. An optical element manufacturing method for forming a thin film by dispersing single wall carbon nano-tubes in a dispersion medium to prepare dispersant solution, and spraying the dispersant solution on a work. Thus, it is possible to provide a highly efficient and non-linear optical element which is operable in a communication wavelength range at an extremely low cost, and the manufacturing method thereof.</p> |
