PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein a work is hard to be done caused by the work to be performed by avoiding a sharp distal end of a release pawl when a wind-up occurs or at cleaning a pressing roller or the like. SOLUTION: A stencil printer comprises a plate cylinder 1 for winding a plate-made master 8, the pressing roller 15 for relatively pressing a sheet 29 to the master 8 on the plate cylinder 1, and the release pawl 50 selectively occupying a release position for releasing the sheet 29 from the plate cylinder 1 by approaching to the outer peripheral surface of the plate cylinder 1 at the distal end 50a and a non-release position separated from the release position. The printer further comprises a guide storing member 54 for protruding the distal end 50a when the pawl 50 occupies the release position at the time of printing and storing the distal end 50a when the pawl 50 occupies the non-release position at the time of non-printing. The guide storing member 54 has a function of linearly guiding the pawl 50 and is fixed on the printer body side.
