PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always cook rice tastily by fixing a taste improver to the optimum position. SOLUTION: This electric rice cooker is provided with a rice cooker body 1 for storing a rice pot 3 in the interior, a lid 2 for covering an opening of the rice cooker body 1 to be freely opened and closed, and a heating means (a work coil 11) for heating the bottom of the rice pot 3. A taste improving means 35 formed by storing a taste improver 37 in a storing case 36 having a number of passing holes 38, 38 and 39, 39 in the side and top surface is fitted to the inner bottom part of the rice bowl 3, whereby when in cooking the rice, the bottom of the rice pot 3 is heated by the work coil 11 to thereby cause convention of rice and water stored in the rice pot 3, a water stream flows from the side passing hole 38, 38 of the storing case 36 to the top surface passing holes 39, 39.
