Fresh water extracted from snow and ice in polar regions by ship's effluent heat or geothermal energy

Process to extract sweet water from ice and snow in polar regions where effluent heat derived from a ship's power systems is employed to melt ice and snow. An Independent claim is also included for a process in which ice and snow are recovered as water melted by geothermal energy, solar energy, and heat energy extracted from the surrounding sea water via a heat exchanger. The ship transports the fresh water to users elsewhere.
