PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrodeless discharge lamp in which blackening is reduced and which can be lighted with a low starting voltage, and a light irradiation device and a water treatment device. SOLUTION: The electrodeless discharge lamp 1 is comprised of a tubular light-emitting tube 2 in which discharge media is filled, an inductive coupled coil 3 which is provided so as to surround the light-emitting tube 2 and constructed capable of transmitting the discharge energy to the discharge media, and mainly a non-conductive material. A gap is formed between the light- emitting tube 2 and the inductively coupled coil 3 so that the space between the outer face of the light-emitting tube 2 and the inner face of the inductively coupled coil 3 may be nearly constant and 1-20 mm wide throughout the circumference of the light-emitting tube.
