Calibration of an electric current feed installation for an electrode welding machine by determination of the maximal magnetic and thermal currents of its magneto-thermal circuit breaker

The calibration of an electric current feed installation for an electrode welding machine consists of realising a prior and automatic welding sequence by: (a) effecting a sequence of successive welding operations whilst progressively augmenting the intensity of the electric current and the welding time without passing a predetermined maximal welding intensity between the electrodes (3); (b) indirectly measuring the mean value of the effective intensity of the primary current of the transformer (2) in order to detect the maximal value of the magnetic current of the circuit breaker (1) at cut off, this measure being effected between the onset of the welding operation during which a cut off is produced and the end of this operation; (c) measuring the welding time between the start of the operation and the cut off; (d) effecting a sequence of welding operation at maximal intensity for the determination of the thermal current of the circuit breaker.
