PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate color reproducibility in good correspondence with a scene being photographed actually. SOLUTION: In a method for forming a color chart being used in the evaluation of an imaging system, the chart is formed by constituting patches in a plurality of stages including a color approximate to the spectroscopic reflectivity of the surface of an object measured by a spectroluminance meter, a color approximate to the spectroscopic reflectivity containing the reflective component of an illumination light source on the surface of the object, and a color approximate to the spectroscopic reflectivity when the illumination light source on the surface of the object is limited.
