PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for melting and removing a metal deposited on a tip of a tuyere of a double or triple pipe structure used to blow a process gas or a purge gas for measuring the temperature of molten metal in a refining furnace. SOLUTION: In the method for removing the metal deposited on the tip of the tuyere of the double or triple pipe structure dipped in the molten metal in the refining furnace, the refining furnace under the operation is empty, and in the case of the tuyere of double pipe structure, a hydrocarbon gas, a liquid fuel or a combustible gas is singly run, or at least two of them are mixed and run in a flow passage in a space between outer and inner pipes, and a gas containing oxygen in which gaseous oxygen is regulated in a combustible concentration range is run in the inner pipe of the tuyere. In the case of the tuyere of the triple pipe structure, the hydrocarbon gas, the liquid fuel or the combustible gas is singly run, or at least two of them are mixed and run in a flow passage in a space between the outermost pipe and a middle pipe, and the gas containing oxygen in which gaseous oxygen is regulated in the combustible concentration range is run in a flow passage in a space between the middle pipe and the innermost pipe of the tuyere. The metal deposited on the tip of the tuyere is melted and removed.
