PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of efficiently reading out printing data with the nozzle positions and the printing timing matched in a printer comprising a head with nozzles dispersed in the line direction. SOLUTION: Raster data are read out from two consecutive column address numbers selected according to the installation position in the printing direction of a corresponding nozzle per line so as to be stored in registers 1, 2. Dot data of 8 dots in the consecutive part according to the correction value of the corresponding line are read out selectively out of the raster data stored in the registers so as to be accumulated per line. Data rows A-G of a common dot number are transmitted from the top of the dot data of each accumulated line successively to a head by a common printing timing.
