HYDROGENATION CATALYST OF HEAVY HYDROCARBON OIL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogenation catalyst of heavy hydrocarbon oil which is excellent in both of desulfurizing activity and metal-resistant property. SOLUTION: In this hydrogenation catalyst of heavy hydrocarbon oil, a hydrogenation activating component is deposited on a porous alumina carrier and the following conditions with respect to the fine pore distribution are satisfied; 1) the volume of fine pores having fine pore diameter of 5-10 nm is 30-45% of the volume of the fine pores having fine pore diameter of 3-30 nm. 2) the volume of fine pores having fine pore diameter of 10-15 nm is 50-65% of the volume of the fine pores having fine pore diameter of 3-30 nm. 3) the volume of fine pores having fine pore diameter of >=30 nm is <=2% of the total fine pore volume.
