Diaminodinitropyridine-N-oxide (DADNPO) is used as a substitute for 2,2`,4,4`,6,6`-hexanitrostilbene explosive for perforating borehole feed channels during deep oil drilling. DADNPO is used to perforate feed channels leading into a borehole during very deep oil drilling.
