PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for controlling by using a microcomputer processing speedily and surely by easily realizing a plurality of controlling functions and detection functions in spite of being a single microcomputer. SOLUTION: A multiplier is incorporated in the microcomputer and controlled by a program. In order to make high-frequency operation clock, a multiplier circuit is provided on the poststage of a clock pulse generator (CPG) within the microcomputer to supply the operation clock N-times (N is 2, 4 or 8) as large as the basic frequency of a crystal oscillator to the respective parts of the microcomputer. Consequently, by providing the multiplier and the multiplier circuit to the microcomputer, a program processing time is reduced to realize the plurality of controlling functions or detecting processing by the single microcomputer. Thus, a device itself can be miniaturized and the controller is economical.
