The magazine for a firearm comprises a tube (1) for accommodation of cartridges and provided with an outlet aperture through which the cartridges can be transferred to the firearm. The cartridges at their rear end in the firing direction have an edge with an enlarged diameter in relation to the average diameter of the cartridges. The magazine tube has at least one slot (8), into which the rear edge of at least one of the cartridges at least partly extends. The magazine has a spring connected with a pick-up which extends in the magazine tube cross direction in the form of a knob (6) out of a longitudinal slot (7).
