The invention relates to an elevator hoisting machine having mechanisms (20 to 24) which are provided on arms (6) for supporting linings (2) and which adjust a gap between the linings (2), the linings being formed so as to be able to come into and out of contact with a brake drum (1), and the brake drum (1) when the linings (2) are detached from the brake drum (1).
