PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a syphon type water closet having a good design capable of generating the syphon effect in an early stage with a small amount of washing water volume, and of securing a sufficient dirt discharging performance. SOLUTION: In a syphon type water closet having a ball portion with a water accumulating portion receiving dirt and a trap pipeline ejecting the dirt together with washing water by utilizing the syphon action communicated to the water accumulating portion, the trap pipeline has a rising pipe portion extended diagonally upward from the water accumulating portion, a bend portion bent from the top of the rising pipe portion located above the accumulated water surface of the accumulated water portion, a water storing portion for retaining water near and downstream of the bend portion, and a descending pipe portion discharging the dirt passed the water accumulating portion, and the water accumulating portion has a gap portion communicating with air from the bend portion to the descending pipe portion.
