<p>It is made possible to drive a plurality of types of disk cartridges similar in outside dimension but dissimilar in format. A disk driver comprising a first disk cartridge having a first pair of positioning holes in a first cartridge for receiving a first disk and, and a second disk cartridge having a second pair of positioning holes in a second cartridge for receiving a second disk of the same outside dimension as that of the first disk and, the first and second disk cartridges being driven by a single spindle motor (32), wherein the disk driver includes positioning shaft disposing means (40, 41), which dispose positioning shafts (40a, 41a) at positions corresponding to the first pair of holes when the first disk cartridge is to be driven and which dispose positioning shafts (40b, 41b) at positions corresponding to the second pair of holes when the second disk cartridge is to be driven.</p> |
