PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise the potential of an amplifying transistor without raising source voltage and to make the voltage of a pixel part lower. SOLUTION: A reset transistor 120 and a transfer transistor 122 are longitudinally connected between a driving power source (driving voltage Vdd) and the output of a PD 110, and an FD part 116 is provided between their source and drain. A select transistor 124 and the amplifying transistor 126 are longitudinally connected between a vertical signal line 112, and the driving power source and the gate of the amplifying transistor 126 are connected to the FD part 116. The select transistor 124 is provided on the driving power source side so that the connection positions of the amplifying transistor 126 and select transistor 124 are reverse to the prior art circuits, and the amplifying transistor 126 is provided on the side of the vertical signal line 112. After reset operation by the reset transistor 120, the select transistor 124 is turned ON.
