PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data communication controller and a data transfer device capable of transferring data by easily detecting an end of data reception. SOLUTION: This data transfer device 20 transfers the data between a first data communication controller (an IrDA controller) 21 and a second data communication controller (a PCI bus controller) 22. A receiving FIFO memory 23 temporarily holds received data of the first data communication controller 21, and is provided with a reception end signal generating part 31 for setting so as to output a reception FIFO empty signal 32 for informing that the received data in a reception FIFO memory 142 is wholly transferred and disappears, and generating and outputting a reception end signal 33 when receiving this signal 32 to output the reception end signal 33 to the second data communication controller. Thus, transmission data remaining in a transmission FIFO memory 24 can be efficiently transferred to a system memory 26.
