PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skew adjuster performing a skew adjustment of optical disk with a prescribed jitter value present on both sides of he best point of skew-to-jitter characteristics as a reference. SOLUTION: The skew adjuster is provided with a disk rotation driving mechanism 20 for rotating the optical disk 2, a mounting part 3a for mounting a base unit for mounting an optical pickup 10, an adjusting means 40 for adjusting an inclination to the optical disk 2 of the optical pickup 10, a jitter measuring means 53 for measuring a jitter value and a control means 54 for controlling the entire device. The control means 54 rotates the optical disk 2, inclines the optical pickup 10 with respect to the optical disk 2 in one direction until the jitter value becomes a prescribed value or more to measure the jitter value, inclines the optical pickup 10 in the other direction until the jitter value becomes the prescribed value or more to measure the jitter value, calculates a middle point between two measured points and adjusts the optical pickup 10 to the middle point.
