ELECTRONIC CAMERA AND ELECTRONIC ZOOMING CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera which gives the same operation feeling with a light subject even for a dark subject when an operator performs electronic zooming operation. SOLUTION: An electronic zooming control part 131 varies the display magnification of a subject image which is obtained by an imaging device 3 and displayed at a display part 10 according to a command from an operation switch 14. Then the electronic zooming control part 131 controls the step width of the variation of the display magnification according to the lightness of the subject image to make the variation rate of the display magnification of the subject image per unit time irrelevantly to readout cycles of the imaging device 3.
