PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and safe operative base isolation member of rolling bearing type in which stable guiding for a steel ball is achieved and additionally a rolling surface of the steel ball is made comparatively small, and in which damping and restoring operations of the steel ball are provided by cooperation of its peripheral laminated rubbers and the like. SOLUTION: In a bearing type base isolation member, which has a steel ball 10 as a rolling bearing material disposed between respective center portions of a lower steel ball raceway board 6 attached to a lower structure side and an upper steel ball raceway board 9 attached to an upper structure side of lower and upper structures, the rolling bearing type of base isolation member is designed so that the laminated rubbers 7, 7, etc., are erected between upper and lower flange steel plates 4, 2 in four outside corners of steel ball stoppers 11 formed on the upper and lower steel ball raceway boards, center ends of the laminated rubbers 7 are connected to a guide steel plate 13, and the steel ball is held by a guide hole 15 formed in the center of the guide steel plate for holding a center position in a lateral direction of the steel ball and by position holes 17, 16 formed in the center of the upper and lower steel ball raceway boards for serving as a trigger.
