VIDEO SECURITY SYSTEM

A system and method for remote monitoring of a premises. The security system verifies remote users and allows authorized remote users to access features of the security system located on the premises without the need for communication to pass through a central server . Authorized remote users may access their personal account settings to add new users, set and change permissions, change passwords and other information. Authorized users may also be permitt ed to view and hear video and audio information from the premises in real time, as we view and hear information related to the premises that has been stored or cached. Another feature of t he security system allows remote users to communicate with occupants without requiring the occupants to acknowledge the remote user. The security system emits a signal to inform occupants that remote surveillance is occurring.
