PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pattern matching method utilizing a neural network whose judgment accuracy is high. SOLUTION: In the pattern matching method, a plurality of input patterns for learning are inputted to an input unit group, an output pattern of an output unit group corresponding to the inputted input patterns for learning is compared with a predetermined teacher pattern and an error of both is obtained. An operation of correcting a threshold of units constituting each of the unit groups and a connection coefficient of a connection element connecting each of the unit groups on the basis of the error is repeated and the input patterns for learning are learned. Then, an optional pattern is inputted to the input unit group and the output pattern of the output unit group is compared with the output pattern corresponding to the learned input pattern. A correlation between data belonging to different dimensions is calculated, a boundary pattern is prepared at a position where a characteristic Mahalanobis distance determined by the correlation is fixed and it is defined as the input pattern for learning. |
