PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recorder which can form a large number of recording tracks on a surface of a disc-type record carrier using a simple structure, even if a bearing unit with small diameter balls is not used as a bearing unit supporting a rotor of a spindle motor which drives the disc-type record carrier to rotate. SOLUTION: A stator of a spindle motor, which drives a magneto-optical disc 11 to rotate, is composed of a stator core 100 having two ends 100a and 100b on one circumference and stator coils 24 attached to the stator core 100, and a transfer path 101 for a laser head 12 is formed between the ends 100a and 100b.
