PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data correction method capable of reducing the number of correction misses and improving the efficiency of operation by reducing the working load of an operator performing correction work. SOLUTION: Image data 10 received by a facsimile or the like are divided into a plurality of items, e.g. a header 11, a commodity name 12 and a commodity code 13, data recognized by an OCR are also divided into a header 21, a commodity name 22 and a commodity code 23 correspondingly to the items 11 to 13 and these items are displayed on respective screens of personal computers 1 to 3 so as to be compared with each other. Each of operators A to C performs correction work while observing each screen.
