BLURRED IMAGE CORRECTION DEVICE, IMAGE READER, IMAGE FORMING DEVICE AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blurred image correction device that suppresses a noise in a background area from being emphasized in correction processing of blurred characters due to a change in the surface shape of a book original and prevents the contrast of a photographing area from being unnatural so as to optimally correct the blurred characters. SOLUTION: The flowchart of the blurred image correction device includes steps S2 to S4 of extracting various areas (character rectangular area, photographing area and background area) from a scanned image and steps S5 to S8 of using filters capable of intensity adjustment and width adjustment for the various areas to adaptively apply blur correction processing to the areas. Thus, in correction processing for blurred characters due to a change in the surface shape of a book original, it is prevented that the noise in e.g. the background area is emphasized and the contrast of the photographing area is unnatural, then the blurred characters can optimally be corrected.
