PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile machine that allows a user to easily utilize a function which requires the registration of a facsimile number and destination name data in cross-reference with each other in utilizing the function without the need for the user to make troublesome settings. SOLUTION: When a destination name automatic setting is instructed (Yes in #4), destination name data of a facsimile number is inquired of a destination name database set in advance as a connection destination (#5), and the destination name data sent from the destination name database are stored in cross- reference with the facsimile number with respect to this inquiry (#6).
