PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader in which the attenuation effect of electromagnetic waves generated from the connector of an external interface is increased. SOLUTION: In the image reader provided with a scanning part to output an image data expressing an optical image by photoelectric conversion, a frame 16 to support at least a part of the scanning part, a shield 50 locked by the frame 16 and consisting of a conductive plate material and a base plate 46 which is provided between the frame 16 and the shield 50, on whose packaging surface on the side of the shield the connectors 54a, 54b and 54c of the external interface of the scanning part are provided and that possesses a ground pattern conductively connected with the shield 50, leaf spring-shaped terminals 90a, 90b and 90c coming into contact with conductive shells 56a, 56b and 56c in an elastically deformed state by being pressed by the conductive shells 56a, 56b and 56c of the connectors 54a, 54b and 54c are integrally formed with the shield 50. |
