PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clearance measuring method capable of improving measurement accuracy and distribution accuracy of a clearance. SOLUTION: In this clearance measuring method for measuring the clearance between work molding surfaces 6 of a die 5, a measuring sample 1 having a measuring part 2 having a larger board thickness size than the clearance is installed on the work molding surface 6 of the die 5 whose clearance is to be measured, and each die 5 whose clearance is to be measured is drawn close to a prescribed position to thereby crush the measuring part 2 of the measuring sample 1 in the board thickness direction, and the width direction size X1 of the measuring part 2 is measured, and the clearance is determined based on the width direction size X1.
