PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerating machine capable of improving power recovery efficiency and lowering a discharge temperature through simple constitution, in a refrigerating machine using, for example, carbon dioxide as a refrigerant. SOLUTION: A gas cooler 4, an expansion machine 6, and an evaporator 8 are connected, in this order, to the discharge side of a compressor 2 to form a refrigerant circulation circuit. A bypass route 10 is provided to interconnect a spot between a refrigerant inflow 6a and a refrigerant outflow port 6b of an expansion machine 6 and a spot between a suction port b and a discharge port 1a of a compression mechanism 1, and formed that a refrigerant having an intermediate pressure in the expansion machine 6 is injected in the compression mechanism 1 through the bypass route 10. This constitution enables maintenance of excellent power recovery efficiency and lowering of a discharge temperature through simple constitution.
