PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device where a voltage can be applied to a laminated display material layer by a simple structure as a display device which laminated display material layers which has a part where the plurality of display material layers overlap vertically with a substrate surface. SOLUTION: The display device has a plurality of display electrode layers 3a, 3b, etc., which are provided obliquely to the surface of the substrate 1, a plurality of substrate electrodes 2a, 2b, etc., which are provided on the substrate 1 and come into contact with the display electrode layers 3a, 3b, etc., and the display material layers 4a, 4b, etc., which are provided by at least two kinds like YMC and sandwiched between the display electrode layers 3a, 3b, etc. Those two kinds of display material layers 4a, 4b, etc., have parts overlapping vertically with the surface of the substrate 1 and are capable of color display and the display layers 3a, 3b, etc., which are disposed slantly to interpose the display material layers 4a, 4b, etc. The substrate electrodes 2a, 2b, etc., can be connected electrically to each other, so that a voltage can be applied to the laminated display material layers 4a, 4b, etc. through the simple structure.
