PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording/reproducing device for performing correct and efficient control based on an electronic watermark in contents recording/ reproducing. SOLUTION: Copyright information concerning the contents is stored in accordance with the contents stored in a recording medium. The recording/ reproducing device stores information which indicates whether copyright information is a first generation without detecting the electronic watermark and without a burying, a second generation for detecting the electronic watermark without burying or a third generation for detecting the electronic watermark and burying. When recording contents are reproduced and outputted, electronic watermark generation information of equipment with recorded contents to be reproduced is obtained and, then, reproduction and output are correctly controlled based on the obtained information. |
