SOLUTION: When electronic equipment Q is on the slave side and in normal operation mode, power from VBUS of USB, a storage battery 46 or an external power source 44 is supplied to a data transfer control circuit 46. When the electronic equipment Q is on the slave side and in charging mode, power from the VBUS is supplied to the storage battery 46 to charge the battery. If the external power source 44 is available in charging mode, power from the external power source 44, not from the VBUS, is supplied to the storage battery 46. When electronic equipment P is master and in normal operation mode, power from a storage battery 26 or an external power source 24 is supplied to a data transfer control circuit 28 and the electronic equipment Q. When the electronic equipment P is on the master side and in charging mode, power from the storage battery 26 or the external power source 24 is supplied to the electronic equipment Q through the VBUS to charge the storage battery 46 of the electronic equipment Q.
