<p>A plasma display device capable of improving the contrast on a display screen by a relatively simple method. The plasma display device (2) comprises a plurality of pairs of discharge maintaining electrodes (12) formed inside a first substrate (11) substantially parallel to each other along a first direction (X), a dielectric layer (14) formed inside the first substrate (11) so as to cover the discharge maintaining electrodes (12), and a partition wall rib (24) which is formed inside a second substrate (21) and forms a sealed discharge space (4) between the first substrate (11) and the second substrate (21). The partition wall rib (24) comprises longitudinal ribs (24a) formed substantially parallel to each other along the second direction (Y) and transverse ribs (24b) formed substantially parallel to each other along the first direction (X), characterized in that the rib width (W3) of the transverse ribs (24b) is larger than the rib width (W4) of the longitudinal ribs (24a).</p> |
