PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winch capable of easily and accurately inspecting whether or not braking force of a braking device is deteriorated. SOLUTION: The winch is provided with a winch drum 9, a hydraulic motor 1 outputting driving force rotating the winch drum 9, a planetary speed reducing mechanism 3 transmitting the driving force of the hydraulic motor 1 to the winch drum 9, a wet multi-disc brake 10 braking the winch drum 9, a drum lock 25 blocking rotation of the winch drum 9 in the lowering direction, a proximity sensor 14 capable of detecting rotation of a carrier shaft 8, and an alarm device 15 sounding an alarm when the rotation of the carrier shaft 8 is detected. By this, the wet multi-disc brake 10 can be inspected by driving the hydraulic motor 1 at maximum torque in a state of blocking the rotation of the winch drum 9 by the drum lock 25 and confirming whether or not the wet multi-disc brake 10 can inhibit the rotation of the carrier shaft. 8.
