PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling structure for a fuel injection valve that can cool a fuel injection valve uniformly over the circumference. SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine having a water chamber formed between a sleeve supporting the fuel injection valve and a cylinder head and having cooling water passages for supplying cooling water to the water chamber is provided with a drain path in the water chamber for causing cooling water supplied to the water chamber to move in a circumferential direction of the fuel injection valve. The drain path is defined in a plurality of positions. The sleeve is separated from a combustion chamber.
