PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is provided to reduce time required for pouring a ferroelectric liquid crystal into spaces between high polymer columns by equalizing pouring speed of the ferrorelectric liquid crystal, and prevent alignment of liquid crystal molecules from being affected by a shock from the outside. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display(10) includes a first substrate(12) having a display area(24) composed of a plurality of pixel areas(26) and a peripheral area(18); peripheral black matrix(22) formed in the peripheral area of the first substrate; display black matrix(20) formed in the display area of the first substrate; a second substrate(16) having a display area and a peripheral area facing the display area and the peripheral area; a ferrorelectric liquid crystal poured into a space between the first substrate and the second substrate; a plurality of linear high polymer columns(29) maintaining the gap between the first substrate and the second substrate, placed on the display black matrix, parallel with each other for forming pouring paths of the liquid crystal; and a plurality of resistance protrusions(30) formed on the display black matrix. |
