PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely and surely decompose and remove an ethylene gas generated from an article to be cold insulated such as a perishable vegetable or the like in a deep freezing space. SOLUTION: A deep freezer for a container comprises inner and outer casings 3 and 4 integrally mounted on one end side opening surface 53 of a box-shaped container body 50 of a heat insulation structure having the deep freezing space formed at its inside, a deep freezing means 8 and ventilating passages 31, etc., provided at insides the casings 3 and 4 to extend in a vertical wall surface direction via the deep freezing means 8. Thus, air near a ceiling surface of the deep freezing space in the body 50 is circulated by the means 8 and the passages 31, etc., toward a bottom to the vicinity of the ceiling surface via other end side wall surface to cold insulate the article to be cold insulated in the freezing space. The deep freezer further comprises ethylene gas decomposing units 61 and 66 for decomposing the ethylene gas generated from the article in the body 50 by integrating to communicate with upstream parts or downstream parts of the passages 31, etc., through the passages 31, etc., extending in the vertical wall surface direction.
