PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save on labor for connecting work by allowing one worker to perform the work, although requiring two workers for conventional connecting work in which, while an upstairs-side worker HA hangs and supports a drain pipe joint from a hole in an upstairs-side slab, a downstairs-side worker HB holds a drain stack pipe not to be turned down and at the same time the downstairs-side worker HB rides on stepladder, and does a joining work between the upper end of a stack pipe and the lower part of a joint near a ceiling. SOLUTION: The drain stack pipe 20 to be connected to the drain pipe joint 21 on an A-story with its upper socket 20a supported in a through-hole b provided in a slab SB on a B-story so as to be held in an almost erected condition is connected to a drain pipe joint KA. Then, work for connecting a drain pipe joint B to the upper socket 20a of the drain stack pipe 20 is performed on the B-story. Thus, the need for a worker to hold the stack pipe 20 in the erected condition is eliminated on the A-story and so the work for connecting the stack pipe 20 can be performed by one worker.
